Job summary

Banks Lane Junior School in Stockport seeks an experienced SENDCo to lead inclusive practice and SEND leadership. The role is part-time (3.5 days, 22.75 hours/week) with potential additional hours, starting January 2027. The SENDCo will work closely with SLT and SEND Team to ensure every child with SEND reaches their full potential. The post includes some weekly teaching time and a strong focus on safeguarding and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience as SENDCo with proven inclusive practice and SEND leadership.
• Ability to lead, monitor progress and close gaps for vulnerable learners.
• Strong collaboration with SLT, SEND Team, and external agencies.
• Proven safeguarding knowledge and proactive safeguarding approach.
• Flexible working hours with potential additional hours; part-time arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Inspires & champions inclusion and leads with high-impact classroom practice.
• Collaborates with external agencies to manage SEND processes and EHCPs.
• Uses data and monitoring to improve outcomes for vulnerable learners.
• Supports staff through targeted CPD and safeguarding accountability.
• Builds positive relationships with parents and supports staff wellbeing.
