Job summary

The Academy Selsey, part of The Kemnal Academies Trust, is seeking a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs. You will work with the Special Needs Team, help implement IEPs/IBPs, liaise with parents, and contribute to strategies that promote learning, confidence and independence at Key Stage 3–4.

This fixed-term post runs until January 29, 2027, with a flexible, caring approach and opportunities for professional development within a supportive school

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in educational or care settings.
• Familiarity with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implementing individual targets.

Responsibilities

• Support students or small groups withdrawn from lessons.
• Promote student self-esteem and confidence.
• Develop good working relationships with subject teachers.
• Establish supportive relationships with students.
• Assist staff in maintaining constructive relationships with students.
• Act as reading or amanuensis for SEN students during examinations.
• Complete and file student support records.
