Job summary

Norwich Primary Academy, part of Inspiration Trust, seeks an enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to support pupils’ learning and development, including SEN pupils, within a modified curriculum. The role is fixed-term, 7 hours per week (1 day, Thursday), 39 teaching weeks, starting November 2026, based at Norwich Primary Academy.

You will work with teachers to deliver targeted learning, support interventions, and use a range of technologies to help pupils access learning while maintaining a safe

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
• Experience of leading interventions to support learning.
• Ability to use a range of relevant technology.
• Experience of supporting children with high needs SEND and behaviour needs.
• Experience of supporting children with EAL.
• Experience of teaching RWI phonics scheme or systematic synthetic phonics (SSP).
• Experience of delivering NELI interventions.
• First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff.
• Undertaking care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for SEND or EAL.
• Performing assessments and implementing speech and language interventions.
• Enabling access to learning for pupils and assisting the teacher in managing pupils and the classroom.
