Harris Federation's Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form in Croydon is seeking a dedicated part-time Science Technician to support the Science Department. You will ensure the smooth running of practical classes and maintain a safe working environment.

The role is 15 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a salary band of £10,448–£10,598. COSHH and health & safety knowledge are essential; prior school technician experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Level in physics, chemistry or biology.
• COSHH training completed.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsabilités

• Assist and advise teaching staff on practical class preparation.
• Prepare equipment according to teacher specifications.
• Advise on safe use of tools and equipment.
• Maintain resources and assist with repairs.
• Care for plants and animals and ensure security of equipment.
• Understand science syllabus and prepare for lessons.
• Assist with stock keeping.
• Perform safety checks and risk assessments.
• Store equipment safely and dispose of chemicals properly.
• Keep areas tidy and ready for lessons.
• Collaborate with staff to keep learning spaces safe.
