Smithdon High School invites applications for a Science Technician to support the science curriculum and assist with Art, Design Technology and Food faculty duties. The role is 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, term time only, with a starting date in September 2026.

You will prepare, maintain and supply resources for safe practical activities, coordinate materials, liaise with teaching staff and ensure health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate use of practical resources and assist staff with science curriculum needs.
• Maintain safe working environment and health & safety procedures.
• Develop and maintain specialist resources and long-term projects.
• Arrange materials, supplier liaison, and stock control.
• Clean, store and prepare equipment between lessons.
• Assist with general department duties and learning spaces.
