Job summary

The Ongar Academy in Essex is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable science technician to support the Science Department.

You will help prepare, store and dispose of chemicals safely, provide equipment for lessons, and set up apparatus. This is a part-time role (15 hours per week) with hours between 8am and 4pm, and includes an enhanced DBS process.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and reliable with strong organisational mindset.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and laboratory chemical handling.
• Experience in supporting science education or similar.

About the role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable technician to support the Science Department.

Are you organised with a knowledge of Health and Safety and the ability to prepare, store and dispose of chemicals safely in a laboratory environment? Responsibilities will include helping across the science department at The Ongar Academy with a range of duties. You will need to provide relevant equipment, resources, and chemicals to support classroom practical lessons, plus the setting up of apparatus as requested.
