Job summary

St Mary’s Church of England Middle School, Puddletown, in Dorchester, Dorset, is seeking a part-time Science Technician to join the science department. The role runs 22.5 hours per week, 8:40am to 1:10pm, term time only, with a permanent contract.

You will prepare equipment, support demonstrations and help maintain stock while ensuring a safe, well-organised laboratory environment for Years 5–8. The post requires an enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK; training in CLEAPSS

Qualifications

• Awareness of CLEAPSS regulations and First Aid is advantageous; training can be provided.
• Keen eye for detail and a can-do approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, resources and materials for demonstrations and experiments.
• Maintain stock and support laboratory organisation to keep equipment safe and ready.
• Assist teaching staff with practical activities and enrichment sessions.
• Support a high-quality science curriculum across Years 5 to 8.
