Job summary

St Mary’s Church of England Middle School, Puddletown, in Dorchester, Dorset, is seeking a part-time Science Technician to join the science department. The role runs 22.5 hours per week, 8:40am to 1:10pm, term time only, with a permanent contract.

You will prepare equipment, support demonstrations and help maintain stock while ensuring a safe, well-organised laboratory environment for Years 5–8. The post requires an enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK; training in CLEAPSS

Qualifications

• Awareness of CLEAPSS regulations and First Aid is advantageous; training can be provided.

This is afantastic opportunity to join St Mary’s CE Middle School in Puddletown and playan important role in supporting engaging science lessons.

We are seekingto appoint a part time Science Technician to work five mornings per week withinour Science department; although other working patterns will beconsidered.

The main dutieswill include preparing equipment, resources and materials for demonstrations,experiments and practical lessons. As the Science Technician you will also helpmaintain stock, support laboratory organisation and ensure equipment is safe,clean and ready for use.As the Science Technician you will contribute to the smooth running of thedepartment, supporting teaching staff, practical activities, enrichmentsessions and the wider delivery of a high-quality science curriculum to pupilsacross Years 5 to 8.

This position is 22.5 hours per week, 8:40am to1:10pm term time only. The successful candidate will be required to startas soon as possible subject to the appropriate checks being completed.This is a permanent position.
