Gillingstool Primary School in Bristol is seeking a part-time Caretaker to provide a safe, secure, and well-maintained learning environment for pupils and staff. You will handle site security, basic repairs, routine inspections and day-to-day building maintenance.

The role requires independence, practical DIY skills, awareness of health and safety rules and reliable work habits; hours are 20 per week, with timings discussed at interview, and a salary of £13,828.65 (FTE £25,583).

Competenze

• Experience of maintenance, caretaking or facilities management.
• Good practical DIY and repair skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Mansioni

• Act as keyholder and manage opening, closing, alarms and site security.
• Carry out routine inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
• Undertake general repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating and repairs to fixtures and fittings.
• Monitor heating, lighting, water and energy systems and report faults.
• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain safe, clean and tidy grounds including litter removal, gritting and snow clearance.
• Support cleaning standards and ensure washroom facilities remain stocked and operational.
• Set up rooms and equipment for assemblies, meetings and school events.
• Receive deliveries and manage storage of supplies.
• Maintain records of maintenance, compliance checks and premises issues.
