Elementa Support Services Ltd is recruiting a School Caretaker in Taunton. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on an annualised hours contract with a salary of £25,583 to £25,989 per year.

The position requires maintaining a safe and well-presented school environment and may involve early mornings or after-school duties during events. The successful candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, strong DIY skills, and a good working knowledge of health and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a school caretaker or similar role.
• Good practical DIY skills including basic building maintenance and repairs.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and site inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management and upkeep of the school site.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks and liaise with contractors as required.
• Open/close the premises and support school events outside normal hours.
• Prioritise workloads and work independently to resolve maintenance issues.
