Job summary

City2Coast Primary Federation is seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join the premises teams at Hemsby and Rollesby Primary Schools. The role focuses on safe, well-maintained sites, minor repairs, security and health and safety checks to support pupils and staff.

Part-time, up to 30 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with shifts 07:30-10:30 and 14:30-17:30. Salary at Scale C (£13.70 per hour). Start ASAP and DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential.
• Energy, flexibility and reliability are important in a hands‑on maintenance role.
• Strong practical problem solving and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking school buildings and maintaining site security.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs in buildings and grounds.
• Maintaining grounds: grass cutting and general upkeep.
• Assisting with cleaning duties and moving furniture/equipment as required.
• Liaising with external contractors and monitoring supplies.
• Supporting safeguarding and data protection procedures.
