Job summary

Tudor CofE Primary School in Sudbury is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to prepare the school for opening and carry out daily maintenance and statutory checks.

Responsibilities include unlocking gates and rooms, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring outdoor areas, litter picking, and assisting with safe school operations. Salary is £26,016 per annum pro rata for 2 hours per day during term time.

Qualifications

• Basic education (literacy and numeracy skills).
• Willingness to undertake training in statutory building checks
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
• Previous caretaking experience in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Attend relevant training as directed
• Unlock the outside gates
• Unlock all rooms inside the school
• Bring fruit in
• Bring in mail from mailbox and leave in reception
• Check and sweep if necessary, the tennis courts and playing field for debris/broken glass
• Check all outside areas
• Clean up bird droppings from artificial grass
• Blower leaves away at back off school play area/under canopy
• Check woodland area
• Sweep and tidy up quiet area outside school hall
• Make sure the areas under canopy (new school side) are kept clean
• Check all outside bins and change them when needed
• Blow the large playground clear of leaves when required
• Litter pick when required
