Job summary

Luminate Education Group is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer (Stay Safe Officer) to join the Student Life team across campuses in Leeds. This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) focuses on safeguarding students and vulnerable adults, responding to concerns, reducing risk and promoting wellbeing.

The actual salary starts at £19,988 with progression to £21,838 per annum for 22.5 hours, with a pro rata annualised equivalent shown above.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Safeguarding trained.
• NVQ3 or equivalent safeguarding qualification.
• Recent experience as a designated safeguarding officer.
• Experience with vulnerable groups in education.
• Up to date safeguarding knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of students with safeguarding concerns.
• Build supportive relationships with vulnerable learners.
• Record work on the CPOMS system.
• Provide supervision to designated safeguarding officers.
• Monitor and review support for vulnerable students.
• Plan and deliver staff safeguarding training.
• Monitor safeguarding referrals and ensure processes.
• Act as point of contact for external agencies.
• Lead cross-college safeguarding campaigns with teams.
