Job summary

St Elizabeth Hospice is recruiting a part-time Property Services Technician to maintain and decorate the hospice buildings and retail units. The role focuses on routine and reactive maintenance, security, PAT testing, and coordinating volunteers.

A full driving licence is essential as work moves between sites. The position operates on a two-week rota with evenings and weekends, offering a varied schedule and opportunities to contribute to a caring community while ensuring safe, well-kept

Responsibilities

• Routine, preventative and reactive maintenance across hospice premises, grounds and retail units.
• Internal and external decoration of all hospice premises.
• Follow the planned preventive maintenance schedule and keep premises compliant.
• Carry out portable appliance testing and keep detailed records.
• Work to risk assessments, oversee contractors and confirm health and safety inductions.
• Check stock and use of medical gases; unlock/lock, security checks and intruder alarms.
• Join the out-of-hours maintenance on-call rota and perform porter duties as needed.
• Plan work for property services volunteers and organise corporate volunteer groups.
• Support safeguarding duties and report concerns to the appropriate person.
