Fenham Hall Medical Group in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Practice Nurse for six months to cover maternity leave. The role focuses on long-term condition management, cervical cytology, immunisations, contraception and wound care, with some QOF work and audits.

It is a two-day, part-time post with Monday/Tuesday preference and some flexibility. The ideal candidate is an RGN with primary care experience and an enthusiastic, self-directed approach.

Qualifications

• Must be an registered General Nurse (RGN) with primary care experience.
• Part-time role: two days (Mondays and Tuesdays preferred) with some flexibility.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and manage long-term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension.
• Carry out cervical cytology smear tests.
• Provide routine, child and travel immunisations and vaccinations.
• Deliver contraception services.
• Carry out wound care and remove sutures/clips.
• Perform venepuncture, bloods, swabs, urinalysis, ECGs and blood pressure checks.
• Request pathology tests and provide health advice.
• Chaperone patients and support MDT and QOF/PEP achievement.
• Order stock, maintain equipment, and follow infection control.
