Job summary

OJ Digital is recruiting a Payroll Assistant to support our client’s payroll function within a finance team. This part-time, office-based role in Thame offers a stable and collaborative environment.

You will help process weekly and monthly payrolls, maintain records, handle new starters and leavers, and assist with statutory payments while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality across payroll activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a payroll or payroll administration role.
• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy.
• Good numerical and organisational skills.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
• Strong communication skills with handling confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

• Support the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
• Process new starters, leavers and contractual changes.
• Assist with statutory payments including SSP, SMP and related calculations.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner.
• Support payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and confidentially.
• Assist the Head of Payroll with general payroll administration and process improvements.
