Job Opportunity: Payroll Officer (Part-Time)
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working 25 hours a week on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in all aspects of operating a computerized payroll system to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- Verify and input information into the HR system to ensure correct data import into the payroll system.
- Support workplaces in providing accurate information required for payroll processing.
- Review weekly sickness/absence sheets for errors and record sick hours for SSP and Occupational Sick Pay.
- Check payroll information for errors and make necessary adjustments.
- Handle pay and pension queries, liaising with the Assistant Payroll Manager as needed.
- Complete forms for staff transfers, joinings, or departures.
- Calculate holiday entitlements for starters, leavers, and employees with changed hours.
- Prepare administrative forms, letters, and correspondence.
- Ensure deductions are correctly recorded and forwarded.
- Reconcile payroll accounts monthly.
- Prepare and send pension information to providers.
- Manage correspondence, information provision, and training liaising with other departments.
- Record and reconcile pay loan deductions.
- Maintain records according to procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literacy and systems proficiency.
- Previous payroll experience.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Strong communication skills.
