Job Opportunity: Payroll Officer (Part-Time)

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a part-time basis, working 25 hours a week on a permanent contract.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Assist in all aspects of operating a computerized payroll system to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
  2. Verify and input information into the HR system to ensure correct data import into the payroll system.
  3. Support workplaces in providing accurate information required for payroll processing.
  4. Review weekly sickness/absence sheets for errors and record sick hours for SSP and Occupational Sick Pay.
  5. Check payroll information for errors and make necessary adjustments.
  6. Handle pay and pension queries, liaising with the Assistant Payroll Manager as needed.
  7. Complete forms for staff transfers, joinings, or departures.
  8. Calculate holiday entitlements for starters, leavers, and employees with changed hours.
  9. Prepare administrative forms, letters, and correspondence.
  10. Ensure deductions are correctly recorded and forwarded.
  11. Reconcile payroll accounts monthly.
  12. Prepare and send pension information to providers.
  13. Manage correspondence, information provision, and training liaising with other departments.
  14. Record and reconcile pay loan deductions.
  15. Maintain records according to procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy and systems proficiency.
  • Previous payroll experience.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
