Job summary

Adecco Portugal is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for maternity cover in Stevenston. The role is 30 hours per week with a pattern of Monday to Wednesday plus an additional half day, typically 8:30am–5:00pm with some flexibility.

You will join a finance team dedicated to accurately processing a high-volume weekly payroll for around 280 employees, with a small monthly payroll. Summit payroll software is used; you will input and verify timesheets and manage deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience essential.
• Highly accurate with strong numerical skills.
• Organised and able to work to payroll deadlines.
• Confident dealing with a high volume of payroll information.
• Comfortable chasing information and resolving queries.
• Knowledgeable about payroll processes, pensions and statutory payments.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly payroll from start to finish for approximately 280 employees
• Manually inputting and checking timesheets
• Chasing outstanding timesheets to ensure payroll deadlines are met
• Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes
• Calculating SSP, SMP and SPP accurately
• Managing pension contributions and Auto Enrolment
• Processing RTI and EPS submissions
• Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
• Liaising with HMRC when required
• Ensuring payroll records remain accurate, compliant and up to date
