Job summary

Gumtree is seeking a kind, reliable Personal Assistant to support our 5-year-old son in Sheffield. The role covers early mornings (7:00–9:00) and evenings (16:00–21:00), four days every fortnight, with potential additional hours during school holidays.

You will help with routines, meals, homework, play, and local outings to foster independence. The ideal candidate has experience with autism/SEND and a background in childcare, teaching assistance, or related fields, plus a full UK driving licence

Qualifications

• Be reliable, patient, caring and confident.
• Enjoy working and engaging with young children.
• Be comfortable providing clear and consistent boundaries.
• Have experience with autism, SEND, childcare or a similar role.
• Be able to support Hassan independently at home and in the community.
• Have a full UK driving licence and your own suitable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Morning support (7am-9am): help with morning routine and school drop-off.
• Evening support (4pm-9pm): assist with after-school routine, meals, homework, play and activities.
• Occasional local outings and helping him settle for the evening.
• Potential longer hours during school holidays as arranged.
