Job summary

Personal Assistant Network Scotland is seeking a calm, creative and reliable Personal Assistant to support our 9-year-old autistic son in Livingston. The role is part-time: 4 hours per week in term time and 8 hours per week in school holidays, with flexible scheduling.

Rate of pay £14.81 per hour, and PVG membership is required (employer will cover the cost). The PA will work 1:1, in home and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Spend quality time with our son, helping him access joyful, low‑pressure activities (e.g. reading, drawing, music, nature, storytelling).
• Build a trusting, consistent relationship that supports his confidence and autonomy.
• Collaborate with family members to ensure comfort and consistency, and find new places outwith the home for him to go to.
• Respect his communication preferences and sensory needs at all times.
• Support him to go to the park, shops or new places with agreement from family.
