Job summary

UKCIL Ltd is seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to support a 7-year-old with speech delay, autism and medical needs in Bristol. The role involves after-school care, weekend support, and holiday hours with a flexible pattern.

We offer £17.15 per hour for a self-employed PA, pro-rata annual leave, pension and training related to gastrostomy. DBS check and two references are required; driving license and own car are desirable but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with disabilities, especially communication difficulties and autism.
• Appreciation for using visual aids, gestures, Makaton is a plus but not required.
• Must be patient, kind, calm and easy-going.

Responsibilities

• Look after him in home/garden and take to local play areas.
• Occasionally look after him at venues further afield; travel arrangements to be agreed.
• Follow his lead and engage in activities he enjoys.
• Assist with personal care and changes; support feeding when needed.
• Consider his medical needs, safety around gastrostomy and PEG feeding as trained.
