Job summary

Prospect Health in Blyth is seeking a qualified Optometrist for part-time hours (24 per week) with strong clinical skills and a patient‑centered approach. The role offers 24 hours per week with a salary of £49,400–£62,900 FTE, a comprehensive CPD programme, funded accreditation and a supportive team focused on high-quality eye care and service development.

You will perform eye examinations, screen and monitor patients, support extended eye care services and work closely with the Optical Manager

Qualifications

• Full GOC registration is required.
• NHS performer registration with relevant area team/health board.
• MECs or WECs accreditation, or willingness to achieve within 12 months fully funded and supported.
• Commitment to maintaining statutory CPD requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and deliver high-quality patient care.
• Screen and monitor patients.
• Support delivery of extended eye care services.
• Maintain high clinical and operational standards.
• Coach and support the wider optical team.
• Develop new or enhanced patient services.
• Collaborate with the Optical Manager and department team.
