Job summary

Prospect Health is seeking a qualified Optometrist for a 24-hour-per-week role in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. The position offers salary in the range £49,400–£62,900 FTE, with strong CPD support and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will deliver high-quality eye care, support the optical team and contribute to expanded patient services. The role offers flexible hours and a supportive environment focused on patient care and professional development.

Qualifications

• Full GOC registration
• NHS performer registration with your relevant area team
• MECs or WECs accreditation, or willingness to achieve within 12 months (fully funded and supported)
• Commitment to CPD requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive eye examinations and excellent patient care
• Screening and monitoring patients
• Supporting the delivery of extended eye care services
• Maintaining high clinical and operational standards
• Coaching and supporting the wider optical team
• Contributing to the development of new and enhanced patient services
• Working closely with the Optical Manager and wider department team
