Job summary

OH Medical is seeking an Occupational Health Adviser to join an established in-house team in Ipswich, working two days per week. The role focuses on health surveillance, case management and fitness-for-work assessments, closely collaborating with employees, managers and HR to promote a healthy, safe workplace.

The successful candidate will deliver health surveillance, manage referrals, and provide supportive guidance on workplace adjustments, return-to-work processes and reporting, while

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Occupational Health qualification (diploma/degree/MSc).
• Recent experience in health surveillance and case management.
• Strong assessment, report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good IT skills; knowledge of confidentiality and GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face health surveillance and fitness-for-work assessments.
• Manage Occupational Health referrals and sickness absence cases.
• Advise employees, managers and HR on workplace adjustments and return-to-work support.
• Produce accurate, practical Occupational Health reports.
• Support and supervise Occupational Health Technicians.
• Maintain confidential clinical records in line with data protection requirements.
• Contribute to service reporting and work collaboratively with the wider clinical team.
