Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking multiple Ugobus Drivers based in Saffron Walden. The role is part-time, with split shifts and pro rata pay across 27 or 30 hours weekly. Drivers must hold a D1 entitlement and provide safe, accessible minibuse transport across Essex communities.

Applicants should be customer-focused, adaptable to shifting demands and capable of using smartphones or tablets for work-related tasks. DBS checks and MiDAS/First Aid training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a current driving licence with D1 entitlement is essential.
• Experience working with customers from diverse backgrounds is desirable.
• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Drive Ugobus minibuses on scheduled shifts in Saffron Walden.
• Provide safe, reliable and courteous transport to passengers.
• Complete required training and DBS checks as part of onboarding.
• Adhere to shift patterns and operate split shifts as required.
