Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking Ugobus Drivers for Saffron Walden. The role is permanent, part-time with 27 or 30 hours per week, pro rata salaries from £18,943 to £21,048 depending on hours. The full-time equivalent salary is up to £25,959.

Based in Saffron Walden, you will support accessible transport for a diverse range of passengers. Applicants must have D1 entitlement and be able to work a split-shift pattern, with training including MiDAS and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Hold a current driving licence with D1 entitlement.
• Experience working with customers from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to stay calm and professional under pressure.
• Good with using a smartphone or tablet; strong communication in customer-facing environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive Ugobus minibuses to support tailored, accessible transport.
• Work within split-shift patterns (e.g., morning and afternoon blocks).
• Interact with a wide range of passengers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Complete training including MiDAS and First Aid as required.
