Job summary

Inverkeithing Medical Group is a busy GP practice seeking a friendly, professional Medical Receptionist to join the team. The post is based at Inverkeithing with flexibility to cover both branches in Dalgety Bay and Inverkeithing, 24 hours per week Monday to Friday.

You will manage appointments, greet patients, handle queries, and support administration to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. A welcoming, patient-focused ambassador for the Practice is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using computer systems and practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answering phone calls and responding to patient queries.
• Managing appointments, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellations.
• Updating and maintaining patient records on the practice management system.
• Handling patient requests for prescriptions, test results, and other services.
• Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks as required.
