Job summary

KIMS Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Devices Safety Facilitator to support safe management of medical equipment across the hospital. The role involves maintaining the device register, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety alerts and regulatory requirements.

You will work with Theatre Manager and Medical Devices Safety Officer, liaising with external maintenance providers and clinical teams to ensure timely servicing and risk management.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills including spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Confident communication with clinicians, managers, suppliers and contractors.
• Experience in administration, supplier or contract monitoring, or process improvement.
• Knowledge of medical device safety, MHRA guidance, CQC standards or health & safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate medical device register, ensuring equipment is recorded, labelled and traceable.
• Coordinate planned preventative maintenance schedules and liaise with external providers.
• Review safety alerts, recalls and field notices and support investigations into incidents.
• Maintain staff training records and provide guidance on safe device use and fault reporting.
• Support policies, audits and governance documentation for regulatory inspections.
