Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clerk Typist (Band 2) for 22.5 hours across Monday to Wednesday at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The role supports the Surgical Collaborative, providing clerical and typing duties for consultants, specialists, and nurse practitioners.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, producing letters and documents, and liaising with teams. GCSE (C) and RSA 2 or NVQ2 in Admin are required, with typing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C or above.
• RSA 2 word processing or equivalent.
• NVQ 2 in Administration or equivalent typing experience.
• Ability to type accurately and efficiently and manage administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for patients with a professional, patient‑focussed approach.
• Provide high standard administrative support to the clinical team.
• Liaise with departments, patients, NHS Trusts and external agencies.
• Produce professional letters and documents to a high standard.
