Job summary

Ess is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for our Stroud site to keep machinery and facilities running safely and reliably. The role is part-time (3 x 8-hour days) with flexible days and a hands-on, independent work style.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, maintain conveyors, pumps and cooling systems, and carry out preventative maintenance with proper records. A Level 3 electrical qualification and practical fault-finding experience are required.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 3 electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Industrial electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Sound understanding of health and safety and when specialist assistance is needed.
• Experience with injection moulding machinery, hydraulics or pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on production machinery and equipment, within your competence.
• Maintain ancillary equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors and cooling systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, routine inspections and equipment checks, keeping accurate records.
• Identify building and facilities maintenance needs and arrange specialist contractors where required.
• Prioritise maintenance requests and see repairs and outstanding issues through to completion.
