Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Post Room Operative to help run mail and deliveries on site in Gloucester. Working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30, you will receive, sort and dispatch mail, track items and provide friendly customer service to colleagues and visitors.

You will follow security and Health & Safety guidelines, support reception during busy periods, and play a key role in keeping the site running smoothly every day.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills, including email, Microsoft Office and tracking systems.
• Understanding of Health and Safety, security and safe manual handling.
• Previous experience in a mailroom, post room, logistics or customer service role is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, process, distribute, collect and dispatch mail, parcels and deliveries accurately and securely.
• Use mail tracking systems to record and monitor items, maintaining accurate records and ensuring full traceability.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to mailroom enquiries and supporting colleagues, clients and visitors.
• Follow all company procedures, security requirements, and Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring mailroom equipment is used safely.
• Support the wider Sodexo team with general workplace duties, including reception cover during busy periods, with training provided.
