Royal Mail in Gloucester is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 9-month fixed-term contract at Gloucester South Delivery Office. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, working 30 hours a week across five days in seven, including some Sundays.

You'll be active outdoors, build relationships with customers, and work to a rotating shift. Full training provided and a uniform, with a Royal Mail van.

Competenze

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.

Location: Gloucester South Delivery Office, GL2 4BB

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30.00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

Monday - Saturday hours: 08:00 - 15:00 / 14:00 - 20:20

Sunday hours: 11:40 - 18:00

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
