Job summary

Fishbourne CofE Primary School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work 22.5 hours per week on a temporary, part-time basis. You will support pupils in class, under the direction of the class teacher, to promote learning and well-being.

The role involves assisting with curriculum delivery, supervising break times, and contributing to behaviour support, safeguarding, and administrative tasks. A flexible, child-centered approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Support pupils on an individual or small group basis to complete activities.
• Assist with delivery of the curriculum using planned teaching methods.
• Follow and support the school in implementing a consistent behaviour policy.
• Monitor and record children’s responses to learning and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Assist with break-time and lunchtime supervision and first-aid duties.
• Provide clerical/administrative support to the class teacher.
• Participate in meetings and development activities and in Performance Management.
• Follow all school policies including Behaviour, Child Protection, Health & Safety and Learning & Teaching.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to pupils’ development including their physical and mental well-being.
• Support teaching and learning in the classroom under supervision of the class teacher.
