Job summary

Windsor Forest Colleges Group in Slough and Langley is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the Foundation Department on a part-time, term-time basis. The role is 15 hours per week across 37 term-time weeks, with pro-rata pay on Scale G17–G19 (£8,580.89–£9,187.34, or FTE £25,483–£27,284).

You will support students to access the curriculum, assist with learning activities and help develop English, maths and ICT skills, while upholding college policies and safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and experience working with young adults, preferably in an educational setting.
• Level 2 qualifications (GCSE A–C or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics.
• Relevant qualifications or experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the post, including providing physical support for mobility‑impaired students.
• Strict adherence to the college's policies regarding risk management, diversity and equality, health and safety, data protection and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities.
• Help students overcome physical, emotional or learning boundaries.
• Assist with assignments, exam preparation and the development of English, mathematics and ICT skills.
• Monitor student behaviour, maintain confidential records, adapt learning materials and support the use of specialist equipment.
