Job summary

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for Additional Needs Learners. This part-time, term-time role (19.5–33 hours per week) is based at Burton upon Trent and carries a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027, reviewed for the new academic year.

You’ll be caring, adaptable and enthusiastic, with the ability to build positive relationships and support learners with SEND. Evidence of Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to work towards it, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND is a bonus but not required.
• Evidence of Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with SEND and other needs as part of a team.
• Build positive relationships with learners, staff and support networks.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Be flexible to changing learner needs and college events.
• Maintain a discreet, professional approach respecting learner privacy.
