Job summary

The British Museum is looking for an Administrator to support the BM Images licensing team in a part-time role (21.6 hours per week) based in Bloomsbury, London. The position is 0.6 FTE with flexible days across 4 or 5 days, hybrid on-site work, and a salary in the £26,500–£29,000 FTE range (£15,900–£17,400pa).

You will help with content management, licensing support, research and administrative tasks to ensure the image service runs smoothly and delivers for clients and partners.

Qualifications

• This role suits someone highly organised with strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
• Familiarity with databases and content management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support cataloguing, keywording, quality checking and uploading of images to BM Images systems and the website.
• Maintain accurate data across databases and spreadsheets with complete metadata.
• Conduct image research and cataloguing to support client enquiries and commercial requests.
• Assist with image licensing activities, including processing orders and customer service tasks.
• Monitor invoice payments and direct clients to online services for licensing.
