Job summary

CBS Butler is representing a childcare nursery in Haywards Heath, inviting a proactive HR & Payroll Assistant to join on a part-time basis (21 hours) to fit school hours.

You will handle HR inbox, onboarding, payroll support, and maintain employee records in BrightHR, while ensuring SCR compliance and DBS/reference checks.

The role suits candidates with HR or admin experience, CIPD level 3 preferred, strong organisation, confidentiality and experience in childcare or regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR or administrative role.
• CIPD Level 3 is preferred.
• Experience in childcare or a regulated environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HR inbox and respond to employee queries.
• Support onboarding and recruitment administration.
• Process contract changes, maternity/paternity administration, and leaver processes.
• Maintain employee records and update the BrightHR system.
• Ensure SCR accuracy and compliance; provide payroll support including overtime and sickness.
