Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous.
• CIPD qualification or working towards one is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees across the organisation.
• Take ownership of employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
• Coach managers on effective people management and provide guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Support recruitment activity, including onboarding and ensuring new employees receive a positive introduction to the business.
• Assist with employee development, performance reviews and ongoing talent initiatives.
• Provide guidance on company policies, procedures and UK employment legislation.
• Promote fair, compliant approaches to people management.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to the overall employee experience.
• Assist with HR projects, organisational developments and change programmes.
• Support the development of apprentices and emerging talent within the organisation.
• Build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism with sensitive matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute practical ideas to the wider people strategy.

The Opportunity

This is a hands:on HR role offering variety across employee relations, recruitment, performance, development and wider people initiatives. You will act as a trusted point of contact, providing practical advice and helping managers navigate people:related matters confidently and consistently.

The role would suit an HR Advisor or HR Generalist who is commercially aware, approachable and comfortable working independently while also being part of a wider team.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or in a comparable HR position .
• Practical experience managing employee relations cases from initial advice through to resolution.
• Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Confidence advising and coaching managers at different levels of the organisation.
• The ability to communicate difficult or sensitive information clearly and professionally.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and build trusted relationships.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
• A practical, approachable and solutions:focused mindset.
• High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous.
• CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or working towards one, would be beneficial
