Hawk 3 Talent Solutions seeks a Part-Time HR Advisor to support our Hull-based team. The role covers employee relations, recruitment, performance and development with a flexible 24-hour week and a permanent contract.

You will advise managers, handle employee relations matters, support onboarding, and contribute to people initiatives while maintaining confidentiality in line with UK employment law.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as HR Advisor or HR Generalist.
  • Proven handling of employee relations cases from advice to resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Ability to coach managers and communicate sensitively.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Job description

Part-Time HR Advisor

Location: Hull, East Yorkshire

Working Hours: Part-time - flexible hours, approximately 24 hours per week

Salary: Negotiable

Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on HR role offering variety across employee relations, recruitment, performance, development and wider people initiatives. You will act as a trusted point of contact, providing practical advice and helping managers navigate people-related matters confidently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees across the organisation.
  • Take ownership of a variety of employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
  • Coach managers on effective people management and provide appropriate guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Support recruitment activity, including onboarding and ensuring new employees receive a positive introduction to the business.
  • Assist with employee development, performance reviews and ongoing talent initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on company policies, procedures and relevant UK employment legislation.
  • Promote fair, consistent and legally compliant approaches to people management.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to improving the overall employee experience.
  • Assist with HR projects, organisational developments and change programmes.
  • Support the development of apprentices and emerging talent within the organisation.
  • Build strong working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of professionalism when dealing with sensitive employee matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute practical ideas to the wider people strategy.
About You
  • Previous experience working as an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or in a comparable HR position.
  • Practical experience managing employee relations cases from initial advice through to resolution.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Confidence advising and coaching managers at different levels of the organisation.
  • The ability to communicate difficult or sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and build trusted relationships.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A practical, approachable and solutions-focused mindset.
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous.
  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification, or working towards one, would be beneficial
