Job summary

Bromford Housing Group is seeking a part-time Housing Enabler to support people with learning disabilities, helping them maintain their homes and engage with their communities. You will travel across the Midlands, visiting schemes and services monthly to ensure tenancy support, repairs, and independence-building.

The role requires DBS with Adult Barred List check, strong communication, and the ability to manage a varied workload independently.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and an awareness of difficulties our customers may face.
  • Housing management knowledge including tenancy changes, sign ups, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding.
  • Experience of working with lots of organisations and professionals including commissioners, care providers and social work teams.
  • Confidence handling difficult conversations.
  • Resilience and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload independently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a small portfolio of supported housing schemes with care providers, local authorities and community partners.
  • Travel across Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire at least once per month; requires full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Help customers with learning disabilities understand tenancy responsibilities, arrange repairs and maintenance, and make informed decisions about their homes.
  • Support customers to sustain tenancies and build independence through partnerships with providers and authorities.

About the role

Contract: 10-11 months Fixed-Term
Hours: 21 hours per week, worked across three days Monday to Friday
Contractual base: Wolverhampton (WV10 6TB) or Tewkesbury (GL20 8ND)
Operational patch: Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire
Workstyle: Roaming
Additional requirements: Enhanced DBS check with Adult Barred List check
Closing date: Wednesday 23 September 2026


Operational requirement: You'll be required to travel across your operational patch and visit schemes and services throughout Birmingham, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, typically at least once per month. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.


Every day you'll help people with learning disabilities maintain their independence, thrive in their homes and feel part of their communities.


Drawing on your housing knowledge and people skills, you'll help customers with learning disabilities manage their homes, navigate challenges, and achieve positive outcomes.


As a housing enabler, you will work closely with customers with learning disabilities helping them understand their tenancy responsibilities, arrange repairs and maintenance, and make informed decisions about their homes. You'll also build strong partnerships with care providers supporting customers across our services in Bicester, Banbury, Southam and Birmingham.


You'll oversee a small portfolio of supported housing schemes, ensuring customers live in safe, well managed homes. Working alongside care providers, local authorities and community partners, you'll help customers sustain their tenancies, build independence and achieve positive outcomes.


You will be someone who has:
