Job summary

Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice is recruiting 2 part-time Catering Assistants to join the kitchen team at the Newcastle site. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in providing catering services and maintaining a high level of food hygiene while preparing simple meals under supervision.

You will support a busy service, work to keep the kitchen clean and safe, and contribute to the smooth operation for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulations of food hygiene (as required in Food Safety Manual).
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace.
• Experience/knowledge of working in a catering department/kitchen.
• Knowledge of maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and hygienic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily provision of catering services at the hospice.
• Maintain high standard of hygiene and food safety to support rating.
• Undertake general kitchen duties and prepare simple meals under direction.
