Job summary

Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice is recruiting two part-time Catering Assistants to join the team in Newcastle. The roles involve supporting daily catering services, maintaining hygiene standards, and preparing simple meals under the Head Chef in a busy hospice environment.

The positions are permanent, with 26 or 24 hours per week and shifts between 7 am and 6:30 pm, including weekends. Salary is on the Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, AFC Band 2, £25,272 pro rata per annum plus enhancements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to apply food hygiene regulations as required in the Food Safety Manual.
• Ability to work well within a team and support kitchen operations.
• Awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace.
• Experience/knowledge of working in a catering department/kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily provision of all catering services at the Hospice.
• Maintain level 5 food hygiene rating and high-quality food service.
• Undertake general kitchen duties and cook simple meals under the Head Chef.
