Job summary

Colbern Limited in Redditch is seeking an experienced Homelessness and Housing Solutions Officer for a 3-month contract with 2 days per week in the office. You will assess needs, develop personalised housing plans, negotiate with landlords, and advise on housing rights under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Part 7 of the 1996 Housing Act.

Requirements include at least 3 years in Homelessness & Housing Solutions, strong casework skills, and knowledge of prevention/relief processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Homelessness & Housing Solutions.
• Must have Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Part 7 of the 1996 Housing Act experience; Part 7 preferred over Part 6.
• Knowledge of prevention and relief processes; ability to make decisions with 12–24 months' relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and create personalised housing plans.
• Negotiate with landlords to secure or retain accommodation.
• Provide guidance on housing rights and available support services.
• Record decisions in line with statutory requirements.
