Job summary

Brackenberry Limited is recruiting a Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer on a 3-month contract to support a local authority in Bromsgrove District and Redditch. The role focuses on prevention and relief of homelessness, providing tailored housing advice and ensuring compliance with the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Typical duties include managing caseloads, negotiating with landlords, creating PHPs, and making legally robust decisions.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Extensive knowledge of Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and Homelessness Code of Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload assessing housing needs and homelessness applications.
• Deliver prevention and relief duties including landlord negotiations and mediation.
• Make legally robust decisions under Housing Act provisions.
• Maintain accurate records for statutory data submission.
• Identify safeguarding issues for adults and/or children as needed.
