Job summary

Valley Academy is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time, permanent appointment. You will complement teachers’ delivery, help plan and manage resources, and supervise classes when teachers are absent. The role emphasises pupil welfare, inclusion and raising achievement.

Hours are negotiable between 32.5 and 37 per week. Experience supporting students with SEND is required, and training and progression opportunities through the Delta Academies Trust are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND is required.
• Ability to support planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes.

Responsibilities

• Complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and support staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies.
• Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences and assist in the planning cycle and resource management.
• Provide welfare support to pupils and promote inclusive participation in academy life.
