Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Haywards Heath on a part-time basis. The role focuses on delivering lessons using pre-planned materials with no planning required.

You will lead whole-class sessions, maintain momentum, and collaborate with teachers and support staff to support pupils of all abilities in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or substantial classroom leadership experience.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willing to complete one).
• Ability to lead a whole class independently as an HLTA/cover supervisor.
• Strong behaviour management and ability to establish authority quickly.
• Flexible approach across different year groups and subjects.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning sessions using provided lesson plans.
• Deliver engaging lessons, follow existing curriculum schemes, and maintain classroom momentum.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to support pupils of all abilities.
