Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Haywards Heath on a part-time basis. The role focuses on leading classroom learning without planning, with materials supplied by class teachers. A long-term placement offers a clear pathway to permanent contract and a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will deliver lessons, maintain momentum, manage behaviour, and collaborate with staff to support pupils of all abilities. Immediate DBS update is preferred.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 4 teaching qualification required.
• Proven ability to lead a whole class independently.
• Recent enhanced DBS check or willing to obtain one.
• Ability to adapt across year groups and subjects.
• Strong classroom management and high standards of respect.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning sessions using provided lesson plans.
• Deliver engaging lessons and maintain classroom momentum.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff.
