Job summary

Omega in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is seeking a part-time Health and Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and management of safety policies in an engineering/aerospace environment. The role ensures compliance with legislation, promotes a positive safety culture and minimises risks to employees, contractors and visitors.

The position requires NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent, and a relevant degree.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Valid First Aid certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures aligned with current legislation.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across operational areas.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses with reports and corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice to management and staff on health and safety matters.
• Coordinate health and safety training programmes to meet statutory requirements and standards.
• Monitor and report health and safety performance using KPIs for continuous improvement.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors and contractors to ensure compliance.
• Ensure emergency procedures and contingency plans are reviewed and tested.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and staff engagement.
• Manage health and safety documentation, records and licences.
