Job summary

Staffline in Cheltenham is seeking a Health and Safety Manager for a part-time, 24-hour-per-week role. You will lead the development and management of policies in engineering and aerospace environments, ensuring compliance and promoting a positive safety culture.

You will conduct risk assessments, drive audits, investigations, training, and KPI reporting, liaising with regulators and ensuring ISO 45001 alignment; a NEBOSH cert and degree in related field preferred.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Valid First Aid certification is desirable.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proven experience in a health and safety managerial role within engineering or aerospace sectors.
• Experience working with regulatory bodies such as HSE.
• Track record of implementing health and safety management systems in ISO 45001 or similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures aligned with legislation and best practice.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across all areas to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses with detailed reports and corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice to management and staff on health and safety matters.
• Coordinate health and safety training programmes to meet statutory requirements.
• Monitor and report on health and safety performance using KPIs and drive improvements.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors and contractors to ensure compliance and best practice.
• Ensure emergency procedures and contingency plans are current and tested.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and employee engagement.
• Maintain health and safety documentation, records and licences.
