Job summary

Glenholme Bispham Gardens is seeking a Chef to join our care team at Glenholme Bispham Gardens, Blackpool. The role is part-time (27 hours) with a pay of £15.21 per hour, based in our Bispham location.

You will deliver high-quality, wholesome meals, abiding by COSHH, HACCP, and health regulations, while supporting residents with nourishing, culturally respectful menus. You’ll lead, train, and develop kitchen staff, manage budgets, and maintain hygiene and records, staying current with required

Qualifications

• COSHH, HACCP, and Environmental Health Standards/Regulations as applied in hospices or care settings.
• Experience leading and inspiring a kitchen team.
• Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
• Skilled in preparing meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming dining experience.
• Confidence engaging with residents to design appetising menus.
• Previous Head Chef experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise kitchen staff on COSHH, HACCP, and health regs.
• Lead kitchen audits and keep records up to date.
• Meet with residents and families to gather feedback on menus.
• Recruit, train, induct, and appraise kitchen staff.
• Prepare balanced meals meeting dietary, cultural, and religious needs.
• Manage stock budgets and procurement.
• Maintain high kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
• Keep training current and pursue professional development.
